Equestria Daily's Artist Training Grounds: day 23, draw a pony crying.
I thought this theme might be a good one to break from my standard of trying to make a joke with the topic. So I decided to make a story out of the line "The Stars Will Aid in Her Escape." This idea was probably the quickest I've gotten of any day so far. I wondered why the stars would aid her, and then an idea suddenly formed in my mind.
This is the story that I wanted this to imply: Nobody ever wanted Nightmare Moon to be banished, and it was a source of great sadness to all pony kind for one of its daughters to be exiled for so long as to become all but forgotten to living ponies. So now the time has come for the ponies of the past to shed one last tear to aid in her release, hopeful that the day has finally arrived for Nightmare to be restored to her former self, Luna.
I don't know how much of that is successfully implied through the picture, but that's what I had in mind.
This was kind of a rushed job, due to...technical difficulties all day. In the end I only had like an hour and a half to put it together, so it could probably be improved.

This is a nifty idea that never occurred to me before. It's already generally accepted that Celestia manipulated at least the Mane 6 to get her sister back, so it's not beyond reason that the four constellations you have there are catasterized pony heroes of olde, called upon to free Nightmare Moon once a proper set of Element of Harmony bearers were established.
Very awesome idea you have going on here, and honestly I could see this being the actual canon they came up with for the show.
