Artist Training Grounds: Day 9

Equestria Daily's Artist Training Grounds: Day 9, draw ponies making music together.

Nothing was said about everypony being a willing participant in said music, right?

This is my first real completed vector, and it took all evening to make. Submitted it in time by only minutes for day 9's entry. I don't think I'm going to be putting this much effort into many more training grounds pictures, but this idea just caught me right to put in the effort.

Even though I've been trying to keep to the versions I submitted to Equestria Daily, I felt like I had to change a few things with this one. First, I didn't realize it wasn't transparent at first, so fixed that, plus a couple little details that I'd rushed on initially.

I didn't like the face I originally gave Rainbow Dash, and I couldn't seem to fix it, so I changed it to a flutterrage face. That's pretty much what I was going for anyway, because I didn't want it to look like they were actually being harmed. In any case, I think Pinkie Pie is having too much fun to care what Dash or Applejack think right now.

If you're wondering how she's holding them, I don't really have a great answer. Sometimes ponies in the show hold objects through no apparent means, so I find it funny to do the same, even if it doesn't really make sense. If that's not a good enough explanation, assume she glued their tails to her hooves or something.

8-18-11 note: Now that I'm a little more familiar with making vectors, it's interesting to look back at my earliest attempts. Even just a couple months later I can see several things I did in this using poor methods.
